What is FLDisneyMamaOf2, the blog?

You are probably wondering what this whole blog is about. The quick answer is that it is about Disney, specifically families with young children going to Disney World. I have gathered much information from other online resources, documentaries, and of course, personal experience. I wanted to take these tips and tricks and share with other families. For  example, do you know about the Baby Care Centers in the parks? Did you know to pack a bathing suit when going to the parks so your little one can play in the water areas? These are the types of things I will be covering in future posts.

I also want this blog to be interactive. If there is a specific topic you want to know more about or if there is something that you have questions about, please let me know and I will share what I can.

My goal is to create a new post once a week. I will try my best but working full-time and chasing after a 3-year-old and an 8-month-old takes up most of my day. There may be times when I will be unable to post something new. Please check back frequently to see my new posts.

Who is FLDisneyMamaOf2, the person behind the blog?

It's only appropriate that I introduce myself and provide a little background. It's pretty common knowledge that I am a true Disney fan, through and through. I was introduced to the land of the mouse at a very early age. I was about 6 months old when I first visited Walt Disney World in Florida. My family lived in Michigan at the time. My parents packed up our rather large family and drove to Orlando, where we stayed for a month.

Of course, at that young of an age, I didn't get much of the trip. Shortly thereafter, my family moved to Florida and settled in a small town not far from the happiest place on Earth. Every birthday I can remember was celebrated at Disney, per my request, of course. We were Annual Passholders and took full advantage of them, visiting the parks at least twice a month. I knew where every ride, restroom, and restaurant was located. I knew the parade times as well as when the stage shows performed.

While I was away at college, I still maintained my visits to Disney. I even enlisted my boyfriend (who is now my husband) to come along. He didn't visit Disney much as a kid so I acted as his tour guide. He began to share my love and joy for all things Disney. We remained Annual Passholders for several years.  When we got married, we would have loved to have our wedding at Disney but it was not in the budget for our families or us (being college students). Instead of a wedding at Disney, we incorporated several elements of Disney, from the invitations to the table decorations.

I had always dreamt of working at this magical place and one day, my dream came true. I accepted a job at Disney's Reservation Center. It was great to plan vacations for excited guests. I learned a lot, although I knew quite a bit about Disney already.

Fast-forward a few years... my daughter was born. We waited until she was 3 months old for her first visit to Disney. Just like me on my first visit, she didn't do much that young. She is 3 now and has been to Disney more times than I can count.

My son was born last year. He went to Disney when he was about 2 weeks old. Of course, he slept most of the time but we promised our daughter that we would go to Disney to see the Christmas lights, so we did! He is now 8 months old and he has been to Disney twice now. He has to catch up to his sister!

As much as I enjoyed Disney as a child, teenager, and married adult, it's now when I truly enjoy it. It is great to see my children just light up when they see Cinderella Castle or Spaceship Earth.

Going to Disney with kids is a totally different experience. It can be overwhelming but it can also be a great time. Through this blog, I hope to make your Disney trip a bit more hassle-free and enjoyable. Stay tuned!
